Handle with care
Every part of this plant is seriously poisonous: bark, flowers, leaves, roots, sap, seeds and stems. Swallowing any of it can bring on convulsions and breathing failure, and the nectar is toxic too, so this is not one to grow where small children graze. Wear gloves to prune it, wash your hands afterwards, and treat any real ingestion as an emergency.
