Dwarf Crested Iris

Iris cristata

Tiny lavender-blue iris flowers with gold crests on a spreading native ground cover. A spring woodland treasure.

Dangerous to cats

Toxic to cats and dogs, the rhizome most of all. Vomiting, drooling and diarrhoea are the usual signs.

Handle with care

The rhizomes irritate skin and are the most poisonous part if eaten. Wear gloves to lift or divide a clump.
